Investment Manager and Custodial Search Process

We actively search for highly qualified, capable investment firms to invest funds for our clients in a wide range of traditional and nontraditional areas. Our goal is to identify those organizations likely to achieve the best long term results for our clients consistent with their needs and risk tolerances.

Unless there is a local procurement process that needs to be followed, our search activity usually follows a process similar to the following scenario:

Step 1: Define the characteristics desired by the client. These will include a consideration of style, firm size, organization, fees, performance thresholds and geographic preference.

Step 2: Search through internal and external databases.

Step 3: Narrow the list of qualified candidates.

Step 4: Closely examine the semi-finalist list including meeting with investment professionals, checking references and making sure that a long list of questions is answered to our full satisfaction.

Step 5: Review the semi-finalist list in detail with the client and select a list of 2 or 3 finalists for presentation to the client.

Step 6: Conduct finalist interviews with the client.

Step 7: Follow up with any additional research.

Step 8: Help implement the new investment program.
